The Delaware County Summer Youth Employment Program placed 104 youth across Delaware County in summer jobs in their own communities this year. These work experiences assisted young people in improving their workplace skills, career readiness, development of positive contacts, and exploration of fields of interest.  In addition to being able to  earn a paycheck, youth are able to attend workshops where they learn important life skills such as money management, interviewing successfully, and the impact of their digital footprint.  The Summer Youth Employment Program teaches our youth valuable skills and lessons that will help them on their road to success. Funding for our summer program is provided by the Office of Temporary Disability Assistance/Delaware County Department of Social Services. In addition, we receive funding from the O'Connor Foundation and Walton Fairgrounds. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve youth in our community.
